After processing the ore is primarily sold to buyers in the town of Manica on the border with Zimbabwe, for around 10USD per gram. According to reports, Mozambique has its mining potential unexploited with large deposits of coal, graphite, kaolin, iron ore, apatite, marble, bentonite, bauxite, copper, gold, titanium, rubies, and tantalum. In recent years gold deposits in Mozambique provinces of Niassa, Tete and Manica have attracted domestic and international investors. However the gold mining is still done mainly by artisan miners. According to reports, gold industry production is to grow 1.1 percent annually from 2016 to 2020.
